Installing Zenkit

Zenkit v2 comes as an installable package that can be installed via the Joomla installer.

Installing Zenkit is the same process as installing any other Joomla extension.

Slideshow Layout

The slideshow layout renders any items assigned to the leading group of your items into a responsive slideshow.

Tiles layout

The Tiles layout is a flexible jQuery masonry layout that renders K2 items in a fluid grid, based on a vertical alignment. Each item's position is organised based on the availability of spots vertically as opposed to a more traditional grid which organises elements horizontally. It's like a jigsaw for your K2 content.

Carousel layout

The Zenkit carousel layout transforms any items published to the leading group of items in your category into a responsive carousel layout.

Filter layout

The filter layout is a masonry driven fluid grid that uses the tags assigned to your K2 Leading items to create a filterable, dynamic grid.

Tabbed layout

The tabbed layout displays items assigned to the leading, primary and secondary tabs in a three tab layout. The tabs are automatically rendered using the default bootstrap tab functionality.

Magazine layouts

Zenkit contains two layouts based on what is best called a magazine layout. The magazine layout contains a larger leading column of items with a smaller column which contains the primary group of items.

Blog Layout

The Zenkit blog layout is a simple two column that places the meta data such as author, avatar, category, comment count etc in a small column that sits to the right of the main content for each item.

Accordion layout

The Zenkit accordion layout is unique in that it does not have it's own template but is rather a styling that can be applied to other layouts. The accordion mode is triggered via the use of a page class suffix and does not have a separate accordion file like the other layouts.

Customising Zenkit

Zenkit styling is minimal because it was built with the idea that your template should fill in the gaps of how it should look. There is some styling information built into Zenkit but on the whole it relies on your template to make the decision on how specific elements should be styled.
