So do you need two menus working both with dropdowns?

or they open panels - but would otherwise work like one of your previous
'lifestyle' templates - and I can't remember if medica had a similar feature.

With the menu we did have a recent post that covered the question

But the templates aren't really designed to have this implemented

With the open panels - are you referring to the hidden panels?

The idea is that both need to be there. I suppose I need to get out the codebreakers handbook?

Thanks for the link to the other forum thread.

This is with another module published to the menu position

I'll double check that in the morning

sorry yes

I've been thinking about this

It does display with dropdowns - I've got the normal menu position in place and another menu published to top1

With the top1 menu module I've added the module and menu classes as listed in that thread

Problem being the dropdowns are behind the content as the template isn't designed for this

Actually I may have lead you up a garden path here - re-reading your question

This still has one menu as sticky

Our goal is to have an always-available on-demand one-tap 'map search' module (dropdown or modal). I suppose we can move it into the main nav (not what the client wants or is expecting), as long as it can be a drop down or activate a modal. Particularly on mobile, as geolocation is a big part of this website.

Are you tied to the design having a black row at the top and the links in that background?

let's stick with the goal: keeping map search always available somehow. I will prepare the client that there may be another item in the main nav. don't grind the JB juggernaut to a halt over this.

You could have it above the menu (being on the same row in the layout)
