How to eliminate "parent" class from main menu

I would like to eliminate the class "parent" from the main menu, for more space horizontally.
How to do this?

Very sorry but I'm not quite clear what you mean

Are you looking to remove the bullet / dot indicating a drop down?

Yes! I want to eliminate the bullet/dot indicating a drop down, if possible. I want to do this only to have more space on the main menu line.

Try adding this

#menu ul.first-level > li.parent a:before, #menu ul.first-level > li.parent .zen-menu-heading:before {height:0;width:0;margin:0;}
