LoadPosition and LoadModule

I have tried to use the loadposition and loadmodule syntax in some articles in this template and its not working at all. All I see is the text {loadpostion xxxx}.

The content plug-in is enabled, the syntax is correct, the modules exist and are published.

Any ideas
