social buttons

Hi

how can I disable the social buttons in this template?

If I remove the checkmarks in the template administration they just come back after saving.

What to do?#

Hi vanbrel,

Do you mean the Boost template as I wasn't aware the gazetta template was on general release?

Cheers

Hi Hans,
Ive just tested here and it's working fine. Do other changes you make stay saved?

re the release time - it was released silently on Saturday - officially today - well in a few hours time :)

Thanks!

Hi

I have deinstalled the gazetta theme and I'M back at the responsice2 theme.

Anyhow it looks like I am too stupid to hide the social icons.

In the template manager I have removed the check marks of all social icons. Then I pressed the "save" button and I get the message that my changes have succesfully been saved.

When I get back to the social buttons to check all the marks are back again.

I have installed a new user - pls check yourself:

/* removed for security reasons */

Thanks for your patience!

I've removed the access details as this is a live forum and we don't want you to be compromised

Hi vanbrel,

I think the issue with your set up is beyond just the social icons - can you change any setting in the site?

I didn't keep the access details but

Rob my colleague has pointed out what the issue probably is

You have an index.html file in the root - if you remove this the template should work

o.k - you are right! this way it works. Now I understand that I have to delete the index.html file. Then I make my changes and then I make an upload of the index.html again.

Somehow strange!

Thanks

Hi vanbrel,

A server will always look for the index.html file first and this quite often causes problems

It will be an issue with many templates given how the admin works
