Save, Save and Close, Close buttons function broken in the template configuration

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

When I do some changes in the template configuration and I want to save the changes I get only the message at the top of the page saying that changes are saving and that's it. No progress at all.

Close button in the same time doesn't work at all and clicking it doesn't bring you back to the template manager page

A quick thought, Have you checked Admintools, if you are running it, is not blocking the template writing?

Caught me out a few times! ian

This is a quick start installation which I downloaded seconds ago from JB site so Admin tools are not the issue here

Hi, Just downloaded and installed quickstart on our local test server and works fine with template save and compiling. Does everything as expected from a quick test. I have not tested on remote server though.

Usually the save/compile problems are related to permissions, as the template writes files,so worth checking that out before the JB team pick it up for you.

This is not the permission issue since I run it on the windows LAMP and that is not the first website I encountered before but thank you for checking

BTW, I just installed the same on my test live server where I have dozens of other websites which all work normally and without the issues

The same issue with the Template configuration

OK. I found out what is the issue, but I wonder why is this happening

I have the following Chrome plugin installed and if active it blocks the normal execution of the Zen Grid framework

chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm

I didn't encounter such behavior on any other Joomla template framework and lately I tested it all because I needed to check how one particular extension behaves on all major and important Joomla templates and frameworks

Glad to hear you fixed it!

The other thing that can cause issues is php execution times on some server setups, but as you say you have other sites working fine.

Cheers ian

TRhanks Ian :)

Hi @Igor - the template uses Ajax to save and load template config. Not sure why that extension would stop that but it's good to know.
Thanks

Update to this.

I tried to use Firefox without any ad blocking extensions or any additional extensions and I have the same result as seen on the screenshot from the previous message

Hi Igor,

Hope you and the family are well

Odd issue you've encountered as its not been reported by anybody else

Was this with the latest firefox version and on a live server?

Cheers

Yes, that was on the latest Firefox and on a live server, but I can assure you that this is not a browser or server issue because on that same server I have around 50 websites and I have test and demo websites using all major and important Joomla template frameworks. This framework is the only one to throw such issue in the console

Thanks Igor - does your server have any special security protection? Thanks

Nothing special. As I said, I have large number of other frameworks installation which also use ajax for the template saving and none of them is producing such issue.

Don't even know where to start to debug this :-(

Right - thats my job :)

Are you able to provide access to the site?
I would start by switching off plugins to see if it's something extra provided by them.

Thanks

No need. I just figured out that the issue appears when the Nooku framework is enabled in the Plugin manager.

I have to contact JoomlaTools guys to see why this could be the issue, but now you can also test this issue on your server. Just install DocMan which uses Nooku framework and the issue should appear
