Unable to unisntal Zentool 2

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I'm trying to uninstall Zentool 2 on a Joomla 3.8.
Whoever I am not being able to.

The error I get is;

Warning
Package Uninstall: Missing manifest file.
Message
Error uninstalling package.

How to do this manually? I cannot try to install Zentools 2 again to then uninstall it because I no longer have an active subscription nor a backup file from when I did.

Please let me know how to do this manually.

Hi Paul,

I believe it was this username. Since I see an invoice from 2015 associated with it. But to be honest I'm not sure. I've used different details over the years (user, pwd, email) and kinda lost track of it.

Just to be clear, I just updated the website from J3.6. Its just that I can't get the backend to work.. and from the error it seems that is because an extension is not compatible with 3.8, at the moment it seems to be Zentools 2. And not being able to uninstall it.. may be just another clue.

I get it that not being an active member does not entitle me to support, but I really just wanna uninstall the extension, should be a one click kind of thing.

Just so we're clear, I find Zentools to be great, its just that for this website it was an overkill, so I ended up not using it.

I'm happy to do this manually so you don't have me to send me any files.

Regards
Paulo

Hi Paulo,

Un-installing the module itself via the extension manager should be sufficient

Is the site still offline?

What was the error you have / had?

Is the package still there if you check via ftp?

Hi Paul,

When I try to uninstall Zentool2, I get a warning and a message. Below;

Warning
Package Uninstall: Missing manifest file.
Message
Error uninstalling package.

It doesn't matter how many times I try to uninstall, I always get the same warning and message.

I just recovered the website to just before upgrading to Joomla 3.8.2. So I am back to Joomla 3.6. I attached the printscreens of me trying to uninstall.

If you'd like to know what error I get after upgrading to J3.8, here is it;

[Fri Nov 24 06:40:56.883837 2017] [fcgid:warn] [pid 3238] [client {edited}:59325] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAdminCssMenu::addChild() in {edited}:glytec/administrator/templates/isis/html/mod_menu/default_enabled.php on line 22

Should I look elsewhere?

Do you get the same error if you disable the various bits and any zentools2 modules in module manager?

Honestly, I forgot to try that.
Even so, uninstalling should be the right think to do. In this case.
Regardless of Zentools2 being the cause of the error, or not, it still needs to be uninstalled.

Just so I'm clear, I find Zentools to be great, I'm thinking that this is simply some corrupt file and not something zentools did, or is doing to the website. I did use admin tools to optimize the database, hopefully that means the DB is not the cause.

Was wondering with the bits disabled if you still get the error as the error indicates an issue with isis and it isn't an error I've seen before

I'm wondering if this is core problem
