zentools2 K2 large images

I noticed that zentools2 always uses the largest (_XL) images of K2 items. In my case, these images are very large and it is not necessary for creating the masonry-layout that I'm after. Is there a way to have it select the medium-sized version instead?

Are you resizing the images in the image settings?
