Solved: With Joomla as content source, Categories is empty on Content tab

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Using ZT2 1.1.5 with a custom (non JB) template. In ZT2 Options tab, I choose Slideshow for layout and Joomla for content source. In the Content tab, if I choose the "Categories" button, no Categories are shown as choices (including if I type the names of published categories). Is that expected?

What I would like to to do is choose a Joomla category in the Content tab, and then have the items in that Joomla Category be displayed in the slideshow.

If I switch to choose Items, then that works, but I hope I won't have to tell my client to go to ZT2 every time they add an article in a category that is intended to be shown in the slideshow.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Paul,

Sorry I didn't realize 1.1.6 was released. I updated, but I can't compile the CSS for the module. After I click on the button, the label changes to "Compiling less to css", but after that nothing happens - no success or error message.

Admin Tools Pro was installed. First I disabled it, but CSS wouldn't compile, so I uninstalled Admin Tools Pro, but I still couldn't compile CSS.

As I mentioned before, this site uses a custom template, not a JB template. Joomla version is 3.4.5.

Do you have any suggestions for what I should try next?

Do you see any error in the browser console window?

Hi Paul - thanks I didn't think to check that earlier. There was message in the console window that com_ajax couldn't be found. I did a "discover" from the Extension Manager and found it, then installed it, and then ZT2 could find my Joomla categories and it let me choose one.

So this is solved, and the problem was not caused by anything within ZT2.

Thanks again for your help!
