Responsive2 Grid configuration

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Dear Paul,

I am using the grid layout in the tabs position of the responsive2 template.
It is preconfigured with some categories (work, about us etc.).
I have a question of understanding.

Usual behavior is, that when I click on one of the articles below one of the categories, the article is displayed instead of the Grid. Fine so far.
But when I create my own category, links an articles to it and integrate it in the Grid module, the article is not displayed when I click on it. It jumps back and Displays the grid module again instead.
My own created category looks to be same configured as those from the original template. But the behavior in the Grid module is different. Can you help, where I have to look to make it work?
Thanks,
Lars.

Hi Lars,

This sounds like the itemid issue - Joomla needs a link pointing to the content - a hidden menu can be used

Hi Lars,

Can I just check you did publish the link?

The link needs to be publshed but the menu doesn't need to be published to a menu module

Hi Paul,

this works. Thank you!
Only one thing left on that topic. The menu title is also displayed when the article is displayed. I have set "Show item title" to "no" in Zen menu and Link type in the menus.
Is there any other location, where I have to supress the display of the menu title?

Cheers,

Lars.

Hi Paul,

yes, of course.
b-rightshore.com/b-rightshore/index.php
I figured also out a strange behavior, to which you alsao may look at.
The banner Position and the Tabs Position changed ist Position, although in the Responsive2 template layout configuration, they have the right ordering. What i additionally did is changeing the Standard fonts to Quattrocento Sans. may this have an Impact?

Cheers,
Lars.

Hi Lars,

I think there may be a glitch in the admin - it should be banner then tabs

Has it not always been that way?

Dear paul,

I found it. Yoe were right. It is in the "Menus", edit, "Page display" and I toggled "Show page heading" from "global" to "No".

I hope, that was the right way to go.
Also the positioning of the modules was correct. i remembered wrong. Sorry for posting that question.
By the way - where do I find the global settings? E.g. Size of headings, when e.g. article headings are displayed?

Cheers,

Lars.

Hi Lars,

Regarding formatting is it all heading tags or just the article heading tag?

Hi Paul,

it is regarding all heading tags. Want to change it from h2 (which is standard, I guess) to h3.
Anyway, per article would also be somehow interesting, because i haven´t found where to format the Title of the article itself.

Cheers,

Lars.

P.S.: Also working on sunday? Best wishes from Switzerland

ah Switzerland - I also work for a Swiss company based in
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bettmeralp

The font size would require a line of css adding to the custom.css file

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { font-size:24px;}

.zen-module-title h3 {font-size:20px;}

Depending on your sizing preferences

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { font-size:24px;}

These are the heading tags - you could split them up or leave as all this size

This is for module titles commonly used on the sidebar
.zen-module-title h3 {font-size:20px;}

Ah, thanks. I am also looking for resizing the font of the article title and the category title when displayed. it looks, as if they are standardized to h2?

Cheers,
Lars.

Valais is very nice, by the way ;-)
