Hide maincontent

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello,
I create a new template style in the template manager section, but it seems that the check box that manages the maincontent display has no effect with this new style template.

By cons if I disable the maincontent in "Width" section it works, the maintcontent is not displayed.

So what is the difference between activate one or the other option?

Thank you

PS: The check box that manages the maincontent display is valid only for the homepage?

Hi

"Hide maincontent on front page" only works on the front page

So to hide it on other pages you would need to use the width section as you've used it

Hello Paul, thank you for the clarification, but I've another problem and I don't know if this is related to the maincontent… I think so.
I've three zentools modules displayed on the same page:
test-scorrendo.scorrendoconilliri.it/beyond-the-road
If I choose to not display the maincontent, when I click on an item, I am redirected to the same page (the page where are zentools modules) and not to the article.
I guess it's because I've no maincontent to display them?
So what is the best solution? Put the zentools modules in an article?

Two other question:
- why when I click on the item, the ID of the category and article are displayed in the URL (test-scorrendo.scorrendoconilliri.it/beyond-the-road/13-attivita-culturali/25-treno-speciale)?
- how to disable the category link in the beadrcrumb? I searched in all joomla options and in the zeentools module, I am unable to find how to disable this category link…

Thank you

With both issues do the articles have individual article links?

I'm not sure you can disable the text for the category - if you don't have a category content page set it up I think the category link is inactive

Hello Paul, … sorry but I don't really understand what I need to do… :(
With both issues do the articles have individual article links?
No, articles are just created, but there is no menu items related to them, so I need to create an invisible menu? ...or put the zentools modules in an article ...or disable the maintencontent and place zentools modules directly in the page?

Can you please be more explicit to how set up a category content page?

Thank you

With the Joomla menu system if you link to content via a module and the content doesn't have a link on the system odd things will happen

e.g reloading home page, url being odd or both

www.joomlabamboo.com/blog/how-to-joomla/implementing-a-fix-for-menu-item-ids-in-joomla

so yes try and create an invisible menu

With the category in breadcrumbs if you don't have a category link on the site for that particular category I think the text will be un-clickable and not a link

Hello,
... because articles are very short, this time I prefer display them directly in just one page via a category blog menu (without zeentools modules), next time, if I need to use zeentools modules, I'll use the invisible menu method.

Thank you
