On the venture background slideshow the background built in slideshow has a mask applied so the image isn't fully clear.

Is there a way to remove this?

Just done this on project.

Template admin > Theme > Banner and Tab Styles

Set Banner Overlay Transparency (eg 0.6) to 0

This will remove the overlay.

Assumes I have understood your query.

Yes that's the perfect solution - thanks. I was looking in effects -> Slideshow.
