Hi Guys,

I have this website I have done using venture, however when I share an article on facebook the app picks the same picture with EVERY share.

Is there an option to use the picture that is in the article I want to share, or no picture at all.

Any help would be great, see the link here,

I want to share this article with the image in the article but for some reason it picks the pictures of the runners for every share.

I've taken this from a similar thread -

"In order to control the information shared on facebook you need to include opengraph metatags and define the image and text explicitly.

There are a number of plugins that will add the tags for you. Take a look at this one: www.phoca.cz/phoca-open-graph-plugin

You can test your pages with the linter to see how facebook sees the page: developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/"

Thanks for that Paul,

I think that covers copying and pasting a link into facebook, what I am referring to is the facebook and twitter tabs that come with the Venture template.

(in this site they are over the left hand side) www.trilakes.ie

When anyone hits the share an article on facebook, the social tab selects the same picture over and over again.

I have attached a pic of the share from the site and as you can see it selects the picture of the runners even though that is not the picture in the article.

Yes it says all extensions are up to date.

Attached are screenshots from fromwebsite which is what I want to share (this appears on the front end when I click share).

And onFB this is what appears on facebook, you can see the two images are different.

Hi Nick,

Sorry for the delay.

Are you able to reinstate the share buttons so I can test this? The way I built this was to grab the first image from the article content so not sure why it would grab something else. But having it live will help me see why. Is it just the home page you are talking about as well?

Sorry guys I did not see this post, the icons are live they are on the left hand side just down from the slider at the top.

I'll need to check back with a developer but I missed the icons first time round with them being white

Just checking but the there is an offset setting that would move the icons up the page

You would need to add the line of css to however you are customising the template

in most cases that is the custom.css file
