Gallery (autoplay and modifying)

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello,

no problems so far with this really nice looking template.

But I have 2 important questions:
1. How can I disable the fullscreen galleries autoplay?
2. Galleries cannot be modified, i.e. when I delete an image the changes are not saved. Any hint?

Thanks in advance

Hi Bablyon5,

With galleries not being modified is that with galleries you've created or ones from the Quickstart package?

I've just tested it and it appears that its ok with new galleries but not with pre existing galleries

Cheers

Hi Paul,

no chance...

Changes within a gallery are not saved even after deleting all existing galleries, creating new ones and setting permissions to 777 (all Cache cleared). Furthermore images from galleries are mixed in frontend (i.e. image "A" is shown with title of image "B"). The thumbs are not regenerated after clearing cache directory (media/presto-gallery/cache/images).

And what is about stopping the auto play?

I am not very happy with the functioning of this template....

Cheers

Hi Sabine,

Very sorry for the problems you are encountering I've asked Anthony the developer and owner of Joomla Bamboo to have a look at this thread as soon he is able (different time zones are a factor)

Kind regards
Paul

Thanks for your details in the ticket but Ill write the answer here in case others have the same issue.

This is on my todo list to explain in the documentation so please accept my apologies for not having this up already.

Basically because of the way that Presto works. If the site is locked on the front end you need to login to the front end before you can work with the template. The template relies on being able to access the Ajax functionality and when the site is down for maintenance the ajax functionality cant be accessed. So all you need to do is log in and you will be able to create galleries etc.

Re the slideshow there are no settings for the slideshow behaviour at this stage. However you can edit the javascript at tpls/layouts/slideshow.php to adjust them as you need to.

eg look for:

auto: false,
pager: true,
nav: true,
speed: 500,

To adjust those settings.
Thanks

Adjust he duration value here:

{duration: 8000, fade: 750, centeredX: false});

So that it's a super large number. I dont think Backstratch - the slideshow we used for this - has a static option.
Thanks

Sorry, but your answers are really not satisfying...

I turned the site offline because of the problems!

That I cannot disable the fullscreen slideshow from auto play ist also not satisfying.

The question with the german "Umlaute" you did not answer.

Also you did not answer to the problems with the sometimes wrong image titles (image "A" is shown with title of image "B"). and randomly image titles are superposed.

If you cannot provide a full functional template I have to switch to another template as I cannot waste more time because this is a low budget project of a private customer.

And what is about the thumbs generating????

Kind Regards

Hi,

Sorry I missed those questions and my apologies as I do understand that everyones time is valuable.

1. Editing adding new galleries.
You need to be logged in on the front end to use the template if the site is offline.

Have you tried doing this and what was the result?

2. I can look at adding this tomorrow but at the moment its not a part of the template's functionality.

3. Ive just tried with this text:
heute ä, ö, ü and it renders fine. Can you paste the text you are using? Perhaps the test characters Im using arent correct.

4. Which layout are you using to recreate the issue?

Thanks and apologies again.

Hi,

I adjusted the fullscreen.php and this solved the problem with superposing image titles or showing wrong titles....thank you for the advice.

Biggest remaining problem: How to generate the thumbs....when you look at the site you will see, that the thumbs are missing.

Cheers

Hi there,
I just responded to your ticket.
Seems like a permission issue on the cache folder.
Will follow up there.
