Sub menu response time

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi there,

I have a question concerning the submenu show speed on Base3. Problem is that the submenu shows but when moving the mouse towards it, it quickly disappears. Very hard to "catch it" and cklick on it.

Any suggestions where to adjust for that?

Thanks a lot

Do you have a link for the site?
or do you see any console error?

Sure: laschoresch.com.w010b0c6.kasserver.com/index.php

Second menu point. Using FF 30 and IE.

By the way - any idea why certain fonts would not work in IE showing the first menu item as empyt (just no text but cklickable)

Its hard to say what the issue is here

As the menu is quite customised - other than blocks, css - is there anything else you have changed?

What was the menu like before the changes?

Thanks for the quick answer.

The IE version is 11.

Actually I remember to not have customized too much.

I moved the menu position to a customized position and adjusted the a:colour.

I published it to another position to check, but no change.

How is the transition to show the submenu triggered?

With using the menu outside of the mega menu and the menu position together with using nav-pills its hard to be certain what the issue is

I think you are bypassing the template and framework styling and the bootstrap styling is applying

I'll ask a developer for comment - I'm not sure exactly how much we will be able to help especially with your membership being basic

Thanks again.

You are rigth it falls back to bootstrap.

I wonder however what happens if I publish a menu to sidebar-2? If I understood the logic correctly I am outside mega menu and menu position as well in that case. But it's still a menu module.

Or is it only a question of dublication some #sidebar-2 css?

Let me know what the developers say. There is no problem to pay for a solution, need an additional small change anyway.

Wasn't there a new offer like dev blocks?

Cheers and thanks again for the quick replies. :-)

Yes we do offer custom blocks in 30 minutes and 1 hour chunks

I'm not quite sure what is involved so will need to speak to the developers and get back to you

Any news on this one?

I still think it has nothing to do with the customization. Reason is that I tried to publish a new menu module in a regular template position.
I takes the original template style but still has the response time issue. Makes it nearly impossible to choose the submenu item.

Did not resolve the issue - neither for the original nor for the control menu.

One thing I note is that after the update it gets better from time to time like it follows a pattern.

Moving the courser over the menu gives 10 times no result, then suddenly it works well for 2times, again 10 times no way to click on the sub menu.

Have you removed the menu classes when trying the normal menu?

You mean css classes added by me?

No, but the only change was
#navrechts.nav-pills > li > a {
color: #ffffff !important;
}

Hi

I'm referring to this from the docs

"Remove the module and menu classes nav_pills and _menu in the advanced parameters for the menu module."

Not really sure what you mean and the sentence in the docs is a bit cryptic.

I checked both menu modules under advanced parameters:
the navigation (original one) has a menu tag id added (navrechts).
I removed it. No effect.

The controller menu (position belowcontent if you check the link again by case) has only empty fields under advanced options and standard settings.

With the menu if you remove the extra classes and add it to the menu position does the menu function as expected?
