T3 update problem

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello Team JB,
I have 2 dev systems set up for testing. One is on localhost and another on SiteGround. I have a problem with the one on localhost and I think it must have to do with T3. I see this error:
Notice: Undefined index: media in C:\xampp\htdocs\be\plugins\system\t3\includes\core\minify.php on line 237(...249, 410 et al)

Today I updated to Joomla! 3.7. All OK on the Site Ground site. I thought I would also update T3, but only on my localhost so far. That is when I first saw the error. I read in another post that New Lifestyle will not work with the latest T3 (2.6.3) I downloaded 2.4.7 from the New Lifestyle Associated Extenstions area and installed it, but I still get the error above. (I cleaned both Joomla! and browser cache.)

The site that works is running T3 framework 2.3.1. I no longer have a copy of that version to experiment with. I am assuming this is my problem.

Can you help?

The administrator has disabled public write access.
Is that the full notice?

And error reporting is set at default?

Cheers

inspectConsole.gif

know of is the T3 version, as stated above.

Sorry if I'm repeating things here, but are you running the latest version of t3 or the download from this site?

Which error is on the live site and which one is on your localhost and are they related or different issues?

If you can open a ticket with site access details we can take a
look for you.

Rob

Hello Rob,
My dev site on Site Ground is running T3 v 2.3.1 and I do not see the problem.

On my machine at home - the one that displays the problem - I have T3 v2.4.7 , which I downloaded from the New Lifestyle Associated Extensions area. You can not get access to this machine.

The problem I see is that the version of T3 that I downloaded from your site doesn't seem to work with the Joomla! update. I image you have a test machine that you can use to experiment with that configuration.

The order of my upgrade was;
1. Upgrade both sites to Joomla! 3.7
2. Since I was doing site maintenance stuff, upgrade home machine to latest T3. This is when I saw the issue pictured above.
3. Read (in your forum) that template is not compatible with newer versions of T3
4. Downloaded T3 from New Lifestyle Associated Extensions area and installed. This was version 2.4.7. Cleared Joomla! and browse cache and the problem persists.

Perhaps the old version of T3 left some remnant code when I down-graded?

I can just update my home dev machine with a fresh backup (of live site) and then upgrade it to Joomla! 3.7 . It will have the old T3 version, so I expect it to work. I do have another site using this template, though, so I will have to be careful and I guess I should never upgrade T3....?

Are you able to create an akeeba backup file of the site and upload to a file sharing service like dropbox?

Then we could look at the site via a ticket and us having a look at the site

Thanks

I am back again.
I restored my live site onto my home machine. This has the ***same*** version of T3 as the other dev site on Site Ground. So T3 is not my problem. I still have the same error only after updating to Joomla! 3.7.0 and only on my home laptop dev machine.

What else can I check?

Some specs: T3 v2.3.1 ; NL Template 2.0.3 ; php v.7.0.9 Error Reporting is System Default.

Please note: this same code and same versions are running on a Site Ground server and I do not see the errors. (Actually, php version on the server is 7.0.18)

Can there be some other environment variable or something weird?

It looks like the difference is that you local machine has error reporting set to a higher level and is showing notices as well as errors.

There shouldn't be any issue updating to the latest t3 plugin.

As the notice comes from the t3 plugin then that's going to be the only thing that can fix it other than turning down the php error reporting level.

Hello Rob,
I have read in other posts that some aspects of using New Lifestyle template (2014) does NOT work with the latest T3 version.
There was a thread from Paul to someone about this, and the suggestion was to install an earlier version.....

I will try changing my error reporting....

With the plugin it isn't a case of features not working more that the template doesn't support new features added after the template was released

As rob said it does tend to point to the localhost error reporting being too high

I will try adjusting error reporting. Supressing notices are not always a good idea, though, especially ones saying Undefined index.

So do you think I should upgrade my T3?

Thanks
