Read More inside a zentools module

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello JB team,

Ok, I know these things should be easy by now: I have a grid inside a zentabs module style on the front page, just like the demo. The content source is a joomla category. My articles have a Read More inside of them. I have included More... in the General Settings of the module. Read More buttons do not appear.... any clues? This is not on my live system yet....

(Also, my jbtype.dropcap does not display in the module: is this expected?)

thanks in advance, as always,
Pat

Regarding the jbtype syntax - for that to work you need render plugin option selected in the text options tab - below permitted tags I think from memory

Hi Paul,
I have added the readmore in the drag and drop section - that is what I meant by "included More in the General Settings of the module.

Should I not have a Read More break in the articles?
BTW this is a zentabs module so that it is included on the front page with other tabs....

does the Demo use zentabs or zentools? I have done this with zentabs since the beginning.

I am experimenting with the Inspire template right now, and it uses zentools but still renders the tabbed effect. The Read More button works fine in the Inspire template. Hmm?

I cannot seem to show a Read More button in any of my tabbed areas. They are all using categories to render joomla! content. How does the demo do this??

Hi Paul,
Can I upgrade the zentools version I am using with my site? It uses 1.11.5; my newer New LIfestyle site uses 1.12.0. It behaves differently when it comes to these tabbed areas...

With the template home page there is the tabbed position rather than zentools tabs?

Can you attach a link perhaps?

I did create a tabs position on the home page. The "module style" on the Advanced Settings tab in the zentools module is set to zentabs.

brilleneyes.cloudapp.net is my live site. My dev site is not exposed right now.

Which part of the demo are you looking?

Did you also add the read mores in the articles?

I tried adding the Read More in the articles, and I took them out. They do not work in either instance.

I refer to the New Lifestyle demo on your site: Under Best Sellers and Featured Products and About Us there are buttons that link to a page(an article) elsewhere on the site...

Featured and Best sellers are hikashop content modules with the About us being a static custom html module using the syntax for a button class

When you say don't work? are we talking reloading of home page?

Ok,, I can understand the hikashop content modules and I get the custom html. That is how the About Us tab works on the site I gave you the link to: About Us is a custom html module.

I'm more than a little confused by now though. I have a newer New Lifestyle template I'm developing and it is using Zentools v. 1.12.0. I still publish everything into the tabs position, and the modules are all tabbed: the difference is in this newer version I have a module that is a Grid, with image, title text, and MORE, and they all show up. Under Advanced Settings the "Module Style" is Inherited. Look here: jeepspeed.cloudapp.net

When I change my site 1 to Module Style Inherited, the modules stack instead of tab. ??

Yes - I installed that today thinking it would help. I have Joomla! 3.3.3 running, too.

This newer version has also changed the way another tab is displaying images; that is another issue I'll have to come back to - I know there is new caching in the upgraded zentools....

Yes. I cannot get a Read More, or More, to show up in a module where the module style is zentabs.

I have just tried this and it works

Does the readmore show up if not using the zentabs?
