mamp and Joomla 7

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi - I'm testing www.roberttearle.com locally for the Joomla 7.0 upgrade.

After upgrading to 7.0 it looks like some of the menus have stopped working. I get the following error message:

Notice: Undefined index: view in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/rt/components/com_content/helpers/legacyrouter.php on line 95

Plus a load more relating to zen tools. I've attached a screenshot.

I've looked around on Google and see this is not uncommon, but I can't see an explanation or solution that I can understand. I gather it may have something to do with menus.

I'm using an iMac running Sierra 10.12.4. I've tried php 5.xx and 7.0.15, but it makes no difference.

Until I can get it working locally I daren't update the live site.

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Two questions:

1. Did you update Joomla via the joomla update component?
2. Have you updated zentools to the latest version?

Also with Mamp did you have errors before updating?

It is possible the localhost as a whole has a high level of error reporting

Hi Paul - thanks for getting back to me.

Yes - I did use the Joomla updater.
No, retools was not up to date - I've just downloaded the latest version. I'll let you know what happens.

When I updated to 3.7 the site broke - I turned on developer error reporting, and the screenshot was the result.

I'll update zen tools and see what happens,,,

Thanks again

Ian

Fixed all the issues or just zentools?

Hi Paul - it's certainly fixed zen tools.

I am still getting this error:

Notice: Undefined index: view in /home/robertte/public_html/components/com_content/router.php on line 73

But that is there in the 3.6.5 site - I just hadn't noticed it.

Thanks

When I first land on roberttearle.com home page in Safari there's an odd effect in the header where the overlay seems to have slipped - image attached.

When I refresh or navigate to another page this goes away. I doesn't happen in Firefox.

It's nothing more than annoying, but it would be good if I could fix it...

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Can you try installing the latest version on the test site

You will need to install via the Joomla installer and then update less to css in the template

I'm not 100% sure if this fixes the problem as I'm a PC user

Hi Paul - that looks like it has done the trick - with no other problems.

Should I try it on the live site?

Thanks

Yes - tried template update and less to css.

Quit mamp which sometimes seems to interfere with Safari on live sites, and rebooted.

At the first visit to the page it seemed to have worked, but not subsequently. Almost seems as if it were intermittent.

My client uses Chrome on a PC - where it's fine.

Thanks

Not quite sure why this would happen

Are you still having the same problem as with the previous template version?

Hi Paul - I will try the update tomorrow.

Don't have an iPad but do have and iPhone - The header doesn't work at all well on that :-(

Have a look at it on your phone and tell me what you see...

Please try the iPad too.

Thanks
