background image

Hi - my client wants one continuous image to replace the blue background here:
www.leadbetters.co.uk/newsite/
J 3.3.6/Responsive template.
I've told him I don't think it can be done, but I thought I'd ask the experts anyway :-)
Thanks
Ian

What exactly do you mean by continuous?

Hi Paul - thanks for the prompt reply.

He wants something like an A-Z map (help!!) dropped in to replace all the dark blue background.

I don't see how this can be done because of all the different wraps…

Yes, static, not a slideshow or anything - don't for goodness sake put the idea in his head :-)

So you your first step is make all the areas that are blue transparent

Then add a background image to the body tag

Then move on to step 2

Ah - thanks Paul. I have already looked at this, but discounted it because of the wraps.

I suppose I'll at least have to tell him it can be done.

I should be able to find the full instructions again, but I'll get back to you again if I get stuck.

I think it's a tomorrow job now…

Thanks again,

Ian

It will have limitations depending on the screen height and may look pixellated depending on the pic size

So its not entirely easy street :)

If the image is small and low quality it will look rubbish but large ish image will look ok

With it being a background image it depends on the height of the container

So a taller container of content will stretch the image more or display it properly depending on the image :)

Hmmm. Most of the pages should be OK - but some are long/deep.

I suppose these days a largish image is not such a problem. I'll sleep on it.

I think an A-Z map may look horrible anyway…
