Configuring tag-filter page

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I would think carefully about that one

Zenkit does have a filtered layout option but think I would look at styling it first

I will give styling it a bit of a trial, but then I look at ready-for-prime-time right out of the shrink-wrap pages like this....

Yes can see that but this layout is utilising the k2 functionality - k2 does look nice but does mean extra work

So guess its a compromise really of using k2 or using standard Joomla with some tweaking

If it was me I'd look to try the client on Joomla - you will need to utilise intro text for articles

Also with that you could extend imagery to fill the main column -
category.list-striped img {width:100%;}

We can't give an eta over zentools v2 I'm afraid which will possibly support tags

So here's 'progress'

--> demo link <--

Aside from the clean up issues a {grid4 } i can't get rid of, and list-style conflicts, it sort of works. except to install the zentools module they have to manually enter a
<div class="striptag"> {loadposition statement} </div>

having a hard time believing that isn't going to be more of a pain than K2.

It looks good to me :)

K2 is fine if you are used to it and for ultimate users if they don't need to ever work with the settings

Any improvements pending to tag management in future J core releases?

as it stands, there is some serious fiddling required in the content entry fields to make category display work. Along with toggling to code editor (in each of what will eventually be well over 100 content items) to insert a div tag around the image gallery loadposition, one also needs to insert separate {grid4}'s before and after the readmore. The default disordered list can't be used, so jb zencode needs to wrap the list instead - the end result looks nice, with a clean url, but the workflow will feel counter-intuitive and overly technical to a typical marketing assistant. A mistake in one article at the readmore will break the formatting of all the items that follow. Another issue is the ordering doesn't conform to the parameter settings, either.

I think I may need to see what K2 can do, to see if content entry will be less convoluted. The K2 settings will be the developer's responsibility - and the firm has a technical person on staff, as well.

Well this is awesome - the Custom Text Plugin plugin that inserts the entire striptag/loadposition string with one button click!

The styling of the tag pages is actually down to the template. Ive had a pretty minimal attitude to those pages thus far :)
