I have this challenge:

An article in cat. News placed in News Blog (grid 8) doesn't link correctly unless I also make a Footer Menu and places the article as a single articel.

Problem is that we also get the articel in footer menu at the bottom.

I really would like to have it more simple: A news articel written and connected to News Blog cat. appears in grid8 and links to the content, which should open in the left side (grid 8)

Hi Peter,

Are you using the Joomla Blog layout or are you using zentools2?

I've had this problem with ZT2. This is easily solved by creating a new unpublished menu (ie, it's invisible) and then using the free version of RegularLabs 'Add to Menu' button, assign the article to the hidden menu with a click or two. Problem solved - with a clean url, too!

Hi Peter,

In essence Joomla needs menu links for content to display properly - properly meaning in the right place on the right page and with module assignment working correctly.

As Blueshift said the solution is to a create menu with enabled links but with the menu never actually published to a module e.g it never displays on the front end of the site

Joomla needs the itemid to be created to work and having a menu will fix this problem

With having the hidden menu in place it enables the zentools2 module to load the right pages

With any module linked to content e.g it loads articles
a menu link is needed for the content

Blueshift's solutions stream lines the process
