Documentation : Template, Zentools...

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi !
My Aussie template is fine, and beautiful. But... I find the documentation a nightmare !
Not able to find what I need. Example, an How do I for the template Backend prefs is mandatory, no ?
Same difficulty to understand plenty options in Zentools, like about Link, Alternate Links, External Links... And there is no tips mouse over for plenty of not obvious options...

So, what's the hell ? Is it me not able to find proper docs, or you prefering us going thru this forum ?

thxs

With this bit

"Same difficulty to understand plenty options in Zentools, like about Link, Alternate Links, External Links... And there is no tips mouse over for plenty of not obvious options..."

Are you referring to zentools2?

Cheers
Paul

Yes, in fact, Zentools2. I'm not able to find anything on how to manage some options like for Links behavior, and almost all the options are without mouseover explanations. Where can I have a complete doc about this amazing big work you have done ?

Hi Again,

We have the zentools2 demo site

zentools2.joomlabamboo.com/

Although I think I'll need to add something here to better explain manual linking and alternate links is a feature not used much so will need to document that for you a little

Hi Paul,
I explain my needs : i need a carousel on 5 items in a joomla categories "products". But in order to have a good presentation, I want different images than what is in articles. So I created a specific category "carousel". So, how can I link each carousel item to a specific product's article ? I tried "manual links" with a list but nothing become clickable in my carousel. Why ?

Hi Grimbert,

Can you give me a little more information

Just images only - no text?

With the module going forward who would manage the content? e.g. is it the client?

With above there are a few different ways to do what you want so trying to work out which would be best for you to manage

Links not working could be a couple of things - links not on new lines or missing lines, the content in the drag and drop section not having any link setting

But perhaps leave this part of your question for now

Oh, in fact, it is as usual the same site : www.lacompagnieducode.org/fr/
It is articles as I have an image and a short text, exactly same as in your Aussie Quickstart demo.

Then I need to be linked to full articles, but different in a way the images are not the same.

No one will manage the content for the Carousel, only eventually for the articles I want to link to.

But in short: is there a way to "carousel" a set of articles (in one category) and to link on clic to other articles with no external links ? In fact, what is Alternate Links ? :)

With the manual links do you get the same if you use an absolute link rather than relative?

With alternate links - in a joomla article there is a tab called images and links

If you want to use alternate links then you need to add the link to Link A

So when the paage tries to load it re-directs to the added link

I think if you link to content via the options tab > image Settings
with alternate links it will re-direct to a different page
