Ajax problem in update of Joomla with template Grid4

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi!
I try to update a site with Grid4 from Joomla 3.7.5 to Joomla 3.8.5, but I have an Ajax Loading error.
My provider says wich may depends from Template and their extensions.
My provider says also that my hosting is compatible with Joomla and PHP 7. I tried to install Admin Tools without results. I update Joomlabamboo extensions, but nothing is changed.
Since the provider said it could be the template and his extensions, then I have set Protostar as default template and I have too disabled many extensions, but the upgrade give the same ajax error.
I enabled again Grid4 and others extensions, and now the site doesn't work any more. It displays this error: "0 - Call to undefined method Joomla\Registry\Registry::getValue() ".
Can you help me?
Thanks!

Hi,

If you set Protostar as a default template and disabled JB extensions and still the same error occurs, it's not related with Grid4 I think.

Regarding the ""0 - Call to undefined method Joomla\Registry\Registry::getValue() "." - make sure that your files not contain "JRegistry::getvalue()" - it was removed in Joomla 3.x and replaced by JRegistry::get()

If that won't help, please open a ticket, maybe we'll be able to check the issue and help.

Cheers

Hi,
The site now works again. Maybe it was a cache refresh error. I deleted both site and administrator cache. But the update from Joomla 3.7.5 to Joomla 3.8.0 or Joomla 3.8.5 is impossible.
If I enter in menu "Component/Ajax Interface" I get this error:
"InvalidArgumentException: Specifies a valid response format, other than HTML, such as json, raw, debug, etc ..."
Thanks!
Cheers

Hi,
Here you can find similar issue:
forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=826237

You can also try manual Joomla update (pleaser remember about the FULL backup first):
docs.joomla.org/Updating_Joomla_(Manual_Method)

Hi!
No, the site still has version 3.7.5 and I can not update it. I also tried to update it manually, I also tried to install intermediate versions of Joomla, but it does not work.
I also tried to correct file and folder permissions via Admin Tools.
I tried to replace the .htacces file with the original one.

Hi,
What was the problem exactly during the manual update?
Are you able to open a ticket with your website backend and FTP access?

Hi,
Thanks for your help! I try to do some other experiment and then I give you access to the backend / FTP.
With manual update, the error message is the same.
In joomla dashboard, in footer-left corner, it is written like this:"Impossible to determine the joomla jersion".
In reality, the update has never started.
See you later!
Thanks!

Hi!
Two hours ago I asked for a free programmer's intervention, and he managed to update. But I did not understand how he did it. I will try to ask how he did it.
Thanks anyway!
