I'm working with Buildr and I find that when I set an image as a background for a specific area, say the footer, the responsive nature is gone for the background image. An image done in a module and set to the background location is responsive, but not when put in through the template builder selecting an image for a container. Am I missing something, or just SOL?

Um I'm not sure what SOL means?

There are options with css but there are pros and cons

OK back on line

With the footer image it will display an image with no-repeat

The main background image is the same although it is using the zentools module

With the background image for the main content - are you using the backstretch slideshow with 100% height?

For the footer image - have you tried using the background Image > and
Image cover and set to cover

Setting the footer background image to cover still doesn't help. The image remains left justified and doesn't change in size
