Modules not publishing to hidden menu articles

I know I've had this issue before, but in the thread before, I didn't see the solution.

I've got 2 sites now where I want to publish modules to hidden menu articles, and they don't load.

Thoughts?

With a hidden menu - the links are enabled so it should work without a problem

The only time I've heard of it not working is links that aren't enabled or published or there is url component like sh404sef causing an issue
