zen-btn link to email?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Friends,

I really like the zen-btn shortcode! I'd like to use it for more than for external http urls, such as standard links like email. What is the syntax for creating the
{zen-btn}Email Us!|????{/zen-btn}

I realize this is probably staring right at me, but I haven't been able to make it work.

Is there any way to make it work with an external extension like Modals?

Thanks.

Hi

So to confirm you want a mailto link inside a button?

Regarding modals what are you looking to do?

Cheers

I would like a button that matches the other buttons that says "Email Us" and have the mailto link

It would also be cool to have a button that looks like the other buttons that opens a modal, such as what I get with external modals {modal http//...}Check it out!{/modal}

Possible?

For this I would install email protector and make sure the core email plugin is disabled

Content - Email Cloaking

This is the core plugin

The plugin I'd install = email protector

www.regularlabs.com/extensions/emailprotector

This is a free extension

I'm not sure this will work actually as the shortcode plugin is having to display content controlled by the email cloaking plugin

I tried this with both disabled and now having enabled the regular labs and configured my email client for mailto it doesn't seem to work

As the mailto is js cloaking code

I can't get this to work with an email cloak plugin enabled the email app shows something along these lines for the email

emailProtector.addCloakedMailto (ep_47c95199 , 0) <"!-- This email address is being protected from spambots. --span class= cloaked_email ep_47c95199span data-ep-b4edb= data-ep-aac7b= somespan data-ep-aac7b= one"@data-ep-b4edb=.comspan data-ep-aac7b= your data-ep-b4edb= site/span/span/span/spanscript type= text/javascript>

So instead I'd stop using the Shortcode syntax and instead use the template style for a button

e.g.

<p><button class="btn"><a href=" This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ">Email</a></button></p>

This will help with the module extension but the button may need to be styled depending on the template styles you have selected

Ok, I'll try ditching the shortcode and using a button, or perhaps I'll just use an image of the button and link it to email. Thanks!

I think I would actually use the button option as that is simpler to manage e.g. no rollover images etc

Just adding extra css if needed
