Difffernt backgrounds for different pages

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi All,

I would like to have a different background for different sections of a site I'm working on. I have no idea how to go about this.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi Joanne,

With "different background for different sections of a site" are you referring to rows in a template or as the message title refers to different pages?

Cheers

Different pages -- but under 'Services' for instance, I might have all those page backgrounds the same. Then under 'Contact' I would have something else.

Hi Joanne,

If you are adding the backgrounds using a module, you can create a copy of the module and assign different modules to different pages.

If the images are added through the template, you can keep one template set as default and then create copies with different images to assign to different pages in a similar way.

I'm not sure how to use a module to do this. I'm not thinking of having a background in the main content area, just in the body of the page, behind the main content area.

I'm not sure how to describe this...

Sorry if I'm not making any sense.

Hi Joane,

"If the images are added through the template, you can keep one template set as default and then create copies with different images to assign to different pages in a similar way."

So you need to look at this solution - I'll add some screenshots for you

Thanks Rob and Paul,

Would the different templates be child themes?

Hi Joanne,

They would be duplicates of your template style - so they would be whatever the original template is

e.g. in template manager you would select the template and duplicate it then change the image setting and the menu assignment to the relevant page
