Buildr - Base4 - Background Image Not Displaying with Zentools2 in 'background' Position

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I have a site that I'm putting together, on wamp so no link available, and I using all the latest extensions from you guys on Joomla 3.6.
I'm trying to insert a background image for the template (Base4) with Zentools2 in the 'background' position but nothing is displaying??

In Zentools2, under options, I've tried selecting all the slideshows as the layouts and I even tried the stacked layout.is there anything special I'm missing out on?

Aadil
Under the content tab, I selected 1 folder that has 1 image in it -

...Also, tried inserting a custom html module in the same position with an image but nothing displays either.

Hi Again,

Is it possible to make the image scrollable with a fixed height by using the zentools2 module to display a single background image?

On a side note, I tried selecting the 'single' layout option in zentools and this error was output to the background position in the frontend (the image was displayed below the error message):

Hi

Are you using the latest version?

With error reporting are they set at normal levels on the localhost?

Hi,

Yes, latest versions and error reporting is set to system default.
The screenshot I posted before was the error behind all the website content (which I hid in order to take the screenshot).

sorry I wasn't clear - the default error reporting on many localhosts are set too high (I wasn't referring to the joomla error reporting)

So when a site is added to a live server these notices or warnings don't display

Aah, I see. I'm not entirely sure what it's set to, I'm using wamp3.0.4 - do you have any idea which file it is or where I could change these settings?

Also, ant take on the image scroll challenge I mentioned above?

Look for the php ini files - there may be two files to change/check

I use xampp as found that more reliable to use
But other members have found it vice versa

Okay thanks, I'll wait on the scroll issue (turning the error reporting down in php.ini worked, thanks).

I remember previously that there was an issue with previous frameworks that lead to there being additional space at the top of the site (unless you enabled some javascript option or something in the template) - is this issue still present as I have additional space at the top of the site:

Space wise not that I know of

Screenshot wise it doesn't look like there is space on it - can you add an arrow?

No arrow but I scrolled up a bit and took another pic - you should be able to see it at the very top (the image should be at the top but it's shifted dow a bit)?

I believe that the javascript needed to be compressed in the template in your older zgv4 (if that option wasn't checked then that would leave space at the very top for some reason) - I can't remember exactly.

I realised I'm not a 100% sure what you mean

"Is it possible to make the image scrollable with a fixed height by using the zentools2 module to display a single background image?"

With backstretch you can set the height?

Is that what you mean?

Hi,

No, I mean have an image in the background that's positioned at the top and will disappear as you scroll down the page (no parallax or effects, etc. - straight forward image in the background).

At present, if I use zentools2 it's fixed to the top of the page (in full view) even as you scroll down.

...if I use a custom html module in the background position, then you can scroll down and it will disappear but the image resizes to the width of the browser - I don't want that, I want the image's height to be fixed as well as the width (regardless of the browser width).

Well you can assign images to particular rows via the template settings but it sounds like you would need to add it manually via css as a background image instead as I think you want it to extend over several rows

Although depending on the image dimensions you may see different screen sizes handling the image differently e.g. areas of the image (width) may not be viewable on certain screen widths
