Hello,
Just started a new site build (J3.6) so there is just about nothing else installed yet. The first attempt to make a change to the template (adding background image) gives me a spinning compiler that never finishes. The site is hosted on Siteground which I have never had a problem with on many other site builds. The site is currently not live, but I am logged into the front end during the changes so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

Got any suggestions?

Do you have any security extensions installed?

What php memory limit do you have?

What php version are you using?

If you open up the browser console window do you see any errors?

Hi Paul,
PHP is currently 5.5, tho changing it to 5.6 or 5.3 makes no difference.
PHP memory is at 768m
There are no security extensions installed.

Update...

I make a change to the template, like selecting a background, and then hit complie. It sits and spins and spins, for as long as I keep the screen open, 5 mins, 10 mins, whatever. I finally hit cancel to get out of it, but when I go back in the configuration shows it is saved. (but it isn't having an effect on the front end of course)

Acting a little wonky...
