Corporation - 500 server error after extract

I have tried installing JB_Corporation_J3+_v1.0 and JB_Corporation_Quickstart_J347_v1.0 on my server, but am getting the following when navigating to the .com after extraction.
500 Server Error

A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.

Or this when navigating to a specific page (i.e. www.xx.com/installation/index.php)

Tried installing a different template (Venture_Quickstart) and it works, tried new copies of Corporation and they are still duds.

Ideas?

Yes, they are.

Venture has 0644 & 0755, Corporation has 0666 & 0777.

Should I manually change all permissions? I did set to 0755 before extracting.

Yikes, never mind on the manual option: lot's of subfolders and permissions don't cascade.

I think I need to check with Anthony on this as something sounds wrong

It will be a few hours before he is awake - is that a problem?
