Hi, I'm completely lost setting up Ascent2. Siteground transferred a full copy our live Deliciousitaly.com database & content to a new build domain - Deliciousitaly.net - but if you take a look at the website (www.deliciousitaly.net) what I see on the homepage is not what I expected, especially regarding main menu and css.

I have not chosen a theme yet, but there is a warning 'Admintools Pro Installed
Please review the warning on the overview panel in your template settings'

I also see 2 plugins for Zentools2 are unpublished. Should I publish them?

If you could set me up on the right path, I would appreciate it.

With the zentool2 plugins - yes they need to be enabled

I'd also check if you are using the latest version of this extension as there are frequent updates

so it looks like a few files may be missing

I would also turn off a few settings in the template configuration if you can access it

In the settings tab - turn off any css settings

turn off - Load compressed Javascript file

turn off - GZIP Javascript output

and save

If still no joy re-open the template settings and the settings tab and click the compress javascript button

My first worry was Zentools2 but it is now updated succesfully to v 2.3.2 of 24/08/2016. The zentools2 Package 2.2.5 was actually disabled before.

No visible change to anything, but I'll try your other suggestions tomorrow.

NB I have to tell you this. We moved to Siteground after a hack with Hostgator. The residue was Admin Tools Pro telling us files were missing and had to be replaced. I have been reluctant to press the command to do this for fear or what may happen (maybe nothing!). Can I simply remove the Admin Tools Pro component from this build version and install again further down the line?

You can disable it via extension > manage rather than uninstall it I think

If you make all the changes to the template then try re-installing the template

The Ascent2 template is replacing the previous portal template?

NB I had already previously disabled Admin Tools Pro. No doubt will come back to you about this just before we go live.

Yes, Ascent2 replaces Portal. Its been good for us but time to move on.

Also considering Ascent2 for a one page company website to replace our Weebly www.deliciousitaly.biz

Was the site previously working in one hosting account and stopped working when it was moved elsewhere?

At the moment I can see javascript errors on your homepage related to a script called 'directmonster'.

Which version of php is the new account running?

Hi Rob, following Paul's advice regarding set up of Ascent2 I had no other issues. But I'll answer your questions in case there is something I should be aware of:

1. Deliciousitaly.com was moved from Hostgator to Siteground in January this year. I then asked for a further full back up to be copied to an additional Siteground acccount where you now see Deliciousitaly.net. This is where we are playing with Ascent2 with a view to making it the new home of Deliciousitaly.com.

2. Both Siteground accounts run php 5.6.26

3. I've never heard or seen 'directmonster' but having looked around it might refer to a Google Anlaytics Plugin which (I've now disabled in Deliciousitaly.net) still runs in Deliciousitaly.com

can I just check you are working on the site as it seems to have lost its home page content apart from menu and social icons

With 3. that was one 404 we saw so it's no longer listed in the console window

Paul, sorry, just read your reply today. We're leaving the homepage till last, so have not added any content just yet. We're working through 2500 internal pages which need JBType syntax replaced with Zen Shortcodes. And taking the opportunity to refresh some images, text, other content etc tks

Just come back to this post as I check Google PageSpeed Insights. There is a big list of 'Eliminate JavaScript & CSS which are blocking the visualization of the above-the-fold content'. The suggestion is to activate asychronous loading. What is the best solution? Here are a few Joomlabamboo related scripts which appear.

For the requests - try going to settings and enable

Load compressed Javascript file

With any merging, caching etc I'd check the site before and after to see everything is working ok

This will get you part way

Many members use JCH Optomise

I do use this myself but I have the pro version

This is an extension that you need to read documentation on and test all the time as you make incremental changes

I would also say that it may not be possible to tick off all the Google criteria

As a basic site it is possible but anything remotely complicated I've never got rid of the more picky suggestions
