Adding Google Analytics breaks the site

When I add GA, either in the custom scripts box, or using an plugin, the site breaks - (template Medica). I get the word 'Sitemap' in Hello World font, and little picture of a corner of the site. Curious about this.

found the problem - linking the search property in webmaster tools to google analytics broke things. :pinch: not sure why that should be, but there you go.
