Template date is one day ahead...

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

The date beside the menu is off by one day, or actually I think it is off by 12 hours.

I have logged into WHM on my VPS and the server time is correct, I have checked the time zone in Joomla and it is correct at America/Vancouver and in fact the Joomla Control Panel is showing the correct day and time as well.

Only the template day is incorrect, it is showing Oct 1 instead of Sept 30, have you any idea why this might be? I did try googling the problem, but haven't found anything.

Was thinking it may have to do with the Australian nature of the template! :cheer:

Hi Tony,

I'll need to check on this as I understood the date came

under Site > Global Configuration >
Click the Server tab >
Server Time Zone

Is this what you checked in Joomla?

hmm my colleague suggests the actual server settings which you've already checked

The template shouldn't have an impact as I understand it

If you can double check that would be great

Hi Paul,

Yes, I've made sure the time is correct wherever I can.

The funny thing is, right now at 8:25 am PST, the site shows the correct date of Oct. 1, just as it was correct yesterday morning, but sometime this afternoon, the menu date will be one day ahead. The Joomla Control Panel date will be correct though.

I'll keep track of it today and try to figure out when it happens and attach a screenshot of the control panel, Server Time Zone and the menu date like the one I attached here which is showing the correct date in the menu.

Cheers,
Tony

I didn't catch the exact time the date changed, but at 7:31PM the date on the template is Oct 2 but Joomla control panel is showing the correct date and time of Oct. 1, 19:31.

The Time zone is also correct at America/Vancouver.

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Paul,

Just for fun, I have installed a few different configurations/templates on another domain that have a date feature and they are all doing the same thing, one day ahead in the early evening.

So, I am in contact with my host to see what the issue could be as it is not just your template.

Sorry for the trouble, I'll post back what I find out if you are interested.

Cheers,
Tony

Was a solution for this found? I just installed Gazetta and am having the same issue - It's 11/7 9:50PM (PST - GMT -8), but the template has been saying it's 11/8 all afternoon and evening.

Settings in joomla are for Los angeles, creation dates are correct on the back end and the host servers are only 35 miles or so away

So far when this has cropped up it has been an issue with the users server

Have you double checked with the host?

Hi,

I had my host check into the date issue on my VPS and everything checked out fine.

The other templates I mentioned earlier in this thread that had experienced the same problem, was actually a mis-configuration that I made (was very tired from all the testing!).

The Gazetta template still exhibits the one day ahead problem for me. I just haven't been able to nail down what time it changes though.

Cheers,
Tony

much as i like having that date there, i'd just as soon turn it off if we can't get it to display the correct date.
Do you know if that is possible?

It has already changed to Nov 9 even though it is only 4:34 PM on Nov 8.

Can I just turn it off?

Hi Virginia,
There is a setting in the template that (under menu panel) that allows you to turn it off.
I've just now discovered the cause of what you are seeing and am working to get a fix.
Sorry for the trouble.
Thanks
