33 sec for save or cancel

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

After Joomla updating to v.3.7 all Zentools2 modules need >33 seconds to be saved or canceled after editing in the administrator panel.
Is it only my problem or something new with Joomla scripts? All other modules are being saved or canceled with no delay.

Hi Gennady,

Are you using the latest version of the module?

What php version are you running?

If you check the browser console tab does it list any issue there?

Paul

Joomla! v. 3.7.0
ZenTools2 v.2.3.3
Template Corporation
php 7.0 (but it is no net activity during the pause, only JS is running!)

Profiler logs (save button was pressed): see attachment, remove .txt to obtain chrome cpuprofile.

Errors on close (cancel, save&exit): no errors
Errors on close (pure save): same error as for open because of reloading module edit form, i guess

Thank You for Your attention!

Have you tried the browser cache clear?

Get the same in different browsers?

Hi Gennady,

Its not something I've seen on the forum

Are you able to create a ticket for the site?

Thanks

Paul,

Now you're seeing something more on it on the forum. John Wood and I have been trying to get back to diagnosing the more in recent weeks, as we'd not been able to put a finger on it, but something on the weekend gave us where to try and look.

So I have a site that we've currently got in Joomla 3.6.5 with Zentools 2.3.3.

We've then duplicated that site to test updating it to Joomla 3.7.2 with Zentools 2.3.3, and we find that when we save a Zentools 2 module, it can take several seconds longer to save than it did on 3.6.5... 10 to 15 seconds.

As part of testing, we've also move the site to new hosting locations to eliminate that as a factor, and though it's somewhat faster (the new server has a higher specification that the predecessor) it continues to be slow. Old server had it at around 15 - 30 second depending on the config of the module.

Template in use is Buildr.

In a related Joomla version set of issues, Regular Labs modals the other day took out Zentools2, actually JQuery, on 3.6.5 with version 9.4.0 due to an issue with Joomla.getOptions, so I don't know what changed in Joomla 3.7.2 that affects JQuery loading, which in turn might be causing the save delay (www.regularlabs.com/extensions/modals#changelog).

Did Gennady log a ticket an solution get worked out?

Will log a ticket for the dev (3.6.5) and testing (3.7.2) sites for you to go an see the issue.

Do you have any sites without regular labs content?

Do they run the same?

Regular labs is part of our skeleton structure nowadays.

However I have several Quickstarts set up for testing JoomlaBamboo templates and showing them to clients, so will go and update one of those to see what happens.

More info soon.
