Use grid to display articles of an author

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello, I just purchased a renewal subscription to download zentools2, In the description it mentioned that you could use contacts as source to be able to use authors as the content source.
I want to create a page which will display all the articles written by one given author. But I only see the ability to filter by category or to pick the individual articles manually.... :(
Can this be solved?

Hi

Are you able to point me to the text where it refers to contacts and authors?

Thanks

Since it was under content sources, by create an Author list, I interpreted create a list with the articles from an author. (using grid format, image, intro text and read more button)

I don't think you can do this but I will check in the morning

You could tag articles with names instead as a workaround?

Cheers,
Paul

I could do it, but it would be a pain, not only because there are over 600 articles and 8 authors to tag, but mainly because authors would need to remember to always add the tag to new articles.

I would really prefer an automatic workaround

I think it would be a great feature to have for many potential clients. I have been using zentools for a while, and when I saw the features list of zentools2 I thought it was the solution I was looking for.

Hi,

This is not possible with the contact source since contacts are not necessarily users or authors.
The categories refers to categories added in the contact component.

It's not something zentools can do at the moment, but I have just added it as a request for a future version.

Regards,

Rob

Its a pity, I will be waiting.
In the meantime, I am trying to implement the filtering by tags, but I can't figure it out either.
I selected the filter layout
and on the filter by I selected the tags button
But I do not see where to specify the tags to filter by. when I click on the content tab it still only allows to filter by items or categories. I cant find the field to specify the tags to filter by...

Help please!

I just figured out that the filtering is dynamic on the page itself. This does not help, as it is supposed to show only the articles of one particular author in that page and not of others.
Is there any solution? If not, is there a chance for a refund.
I will be happy to order once it is implemented.

Hi

I can't think of a way of doing this via the zentools2 module in this case

Can you open a ticket with the transaction details in there

Thanks
