Zentools2 - Images slow to load

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi JB, I seem to have a very slow loading grid image gallery On this page.

I have investigated the media folder and can see items have cached, but only the first several rows display then there is a delay while others load.

There are a lot of images I know, but as I understand it, caching should cover that.

Any clues?

Hi There,

Speed testing the website I see the page size as just over 15 MB

Have you optimised the images for the web?

Cheers

I use this free service to optimise images

Hi Paul,

Yes images are optimised (jch Optimised)

But isnt Zentools creating the scaled images?

On that too, I read that the Zentools cache (in media) was 'connected' to the system cache, but if I clear all of the system cache, the media cache for Zen tools is still there with processed images.

Just to jump back on the fade - do you have setting enabled?

In Module layout and settings

Fade item in as user scrolls

Caching wise I'll check with the developers

Hi Paul, yes to 'Fade item in as user scrolls'.

Regarding the caching, I was reading that a recent update to Zentools2 included that functionality (that the cache was linked)

Have you tried turning off the "fade item in as user scrolls" ?

I've not been able to catch the developers on this one but will get back to you

Morning Paul, yep, that was the bottle-neck that was slowing everything up.

Thanks, appreciate it!
