In my never ending attempt to use ZT2 for displaying as much content as possible, I think another tool in this "swiss army knife" should be a way to show a download button when using the "images" content source.

As in to download the image?

So this would be a button specifically to download images. At the moment you could add a download button using the read more and manual link option.
Set the custom text and the link to the image or the pdf.

But I will add a specific image download button.

I don't know if it would be an item or a option in the image settings panel...

Yes that is an option to use readmore but I am letting the client dump images in a folder and having ZT2 display them. Currently they have 100 images so I didn't want to manually create a download button.

Layout element would give you more flexibility. But an option for the image item would make it more discrete.
I think just having it as an layout element makes the most sense.

I wont get to this until next week but creating it isn't going to be too difficult.

Here are the steps:

1. go to mod_zentools2/tmpl/elements/
2. create image_download.php
.....

Actually I was just part way through describing how to do it but thought I would just do it

So two steps:

1. Go to settings/images.xml and add this:
<item>image_download</item>

2. Then add the attached file to the tmpl/elements folder

You can see the markup I used for html5 downloading an image and add or change as you need.

Great Will be added in the next version with a few options for download icon, text used etc.

Food for thought, maybe give the option to have the download button in the lightbox?

I'm good how it is but I haven't had the client review it yet. Maybe its something that others would want.

I can really see a lot of possibilities for ZT. Like adding items for the Link A,B,C. I use those for PDF downloads.

Anyways, keep up the good work!
