No Images / Folders showing in Stacked / Gallery module - ZenTools2

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I'm trying to create the parallax image module shown in the Corporate template. The template docs say to use the Filter option but having looked at the Zen Tools docs I think that should be the stacked option in conjunction with gallery. I'm not seeing any of my image folders or images. Theres just a blank space.

If I try the images option instead of Gallery I do see a list of file paths to folders.
I've tried the extension an another local site using gazetta and that doesn't see any images either. I've checked permissions and am using the default images and file paths. Am I missing something simple that I should have set somewhere? I'm using latest version of Zentools2 and Joomla 3.4.8.

Hi Janice,

Have you configured the options tab?

Hi Paul
Yes. I've set the error reporting and get no content found as per attached.

I managed to make a lot of progress yesterday and was just thinking I had got my head around the power of this. Technology has a habit of keeping me humble!
Don't you ever sleep?

Am about to go to bed although I seem to have a couple of dogs snoring in the middle of it so could be tricky

This was an issue with a previous version of the module but you are using the latest version

Could you create a ticket for the site and we can take a look

Cheers

Hi Paul
I'm working locally on Mamp at present so unfortunately can't do that.

Go to bed and pick up in the morning - I'm sure the dogs will be accommodating. :)

Not sure sharing applies with my dogs :)

With the module open on screen - do you see any errors listed in the console window?

Do you have security type extension installed?

Can you attach some screenshots of your settings so I can test it

Hi Paul
I use admin tools and always test with it. I'd already added the template and included the module with an exception for everything but have also disabled it to test.
Screenshots attached. Thanks again for your time

Janice

Are you able to uninstall admin tools completely as a test?

Morning / Evening Paul
Ok. I've run through a series of tests this morning starting with an identical site set up but with the Gazetta template - same issue, which rules out the template in isolation.
Removed Admin Tools and Akeeba Back up pro and JCE Editor completely. No change.
Upgraded the quick start to latest Joomla and latest Zentools2 - that still works perfectly which would seem to rule out any upset there.
Joomla cache and browser cache cleaned between each test.
I've also compared the extension list of the quick start and my site and they both look alike other than the templates. I am using identical host set ups on Mamp Pro.
Any other ideas?
I am now wondering about the site content itself. It's a large site. I do have a lot of images on the site in 63 folders. Is there a limit to displaying image content in this way? Just wondering as the component shows the images via other options in path format.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the update

Do you have any folders that aren't nested? e.g. folders that don't contain other folders

UPDATE
Hi Paul
Yes. I have removed all but 11 folders from the images folder on my site and they now show. This at least solves the mystery but preusumably means that I can't use this feature. Is there a possible fix for this?

What kind of folder structure do you have?

e.g. is it one folder inside another

or is it more complex?

Just also realised that it doesn't support sub-folders either. Maybe there is a way of being able to use a less graphical interface for image heavy sites?

Hi Paul
It's a large Community site for a vulnerable dog breed that's been evolving in various forms over about 10 years and has a magazine look and feel hence has hundreds of pictures. There are over 60 folders at present some have no sub folders some have several, dependent upon the content. Breeders have heir own pages to edit, for example, so in the images folder I have a folder called breeders, a sub-folder for a country and within that a folder for each breeder so that I can give access to the breeder at the front end just to their own folder and to the country's administrator for just their country's breeders.
The other tabs seem to show the structure so maybe if there was a switch to a less graphical interface to turn off that may work. Nice though the interface is :)
Thanks again.

Hi Janice,
Yes at this stage the gallery content source wont show nested folders. You can only show folders in the images/ folder.

Sorry for the confusion.
