Downloaded and installed latest Responsive2 and associated packages.

Clean Joomla install, v 3.6.5. PHP 5.6.29

When I make a change in the template settings via the template control panel about one out of three times, all settings will revert to default.

I see the message "Stored Settings Corrupt, reverting to default".

How can I fix this so I do not constantly lose my custom template settings?

With responsive2 are you using the buildr version?
e.g. its the buildr template but a preset of responsive

Or the responsive2 template?

Hi Paul. No, not the Build.r version, I am using the Responsive2 template and the packages that were listed with it.

But... Build.r (the OnePageTwo revision) is still installed on the instance from this morning when I got frustrated with it. Should I uninstall that?

It is always good to remove unwanted templates but it shouldn't make any difference

Do you have any security extensions installed in the site?

Yes, AdminTools, which is unfortunately essential or we get hacked. Sad state of Joomla security affairs.

Are known issues with AdminTools?

I did disable it for a few minutes, and emptied all Joomla and Browser cache, but the STORED SETTINGS CORRUPT problem persisted.

Admin tools with these version of the framework can interfere with the template creation

Your previous response gave me the idea to try the stock Builde.r template with the Responsive preset. That seems to be working - I can save the configuration and not get the corruption.

Probably a pretty high priority to get your templates working well with AdminTools. We cannot exist without AdminTools due to escalating hacking pressure. I'm guessing a lot of others are in the same position sadly. Can you recommend some other security tool that works well with your templates?

I personally use admin tools pro myself on every site I build

I should mention that I think every major security extension will slightly clash with any template in my experience

They all have their quirks - one blocks analytics till its settings are tweaked

With security being so important any extension needs to be tweaked and tested on a dev site in my experience or a backup taken before testing it
