One Page Mode - don't understand the documentation

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I'm really having trouble wrapping my head around One Page Mode for the Responsive 2 template. Is there any video or enhanced documentation that I can refer to?

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Is there a particular bit you are stuck on?

the whole bit actually lol :-)

"The page is divided into corresponding rows that can be viewed on the layout tab in the template settings - eg grid1 to grid4.
The menu items listed below will only be displayed if you have modules published to the appropriate module positions. For instance if you have a module published to grid1, grid,2 grid3 or grid4 then the menu item called Grid1 - Grid4 row menu text will appear on the page."

I don't understand what modules need to be published to the grids, and also, GRID1 contains grid1, grid2, grid3 and grid4.

Near as i can figure, if I publish the menu to grid 1, it appears as a bulleted list, so I'm missing something.

thanks,
Tim

Right so first thing with it being a one page set up the template is module driven

This means as you add modules menu links will populate the menu area e.g so you can't publish a menu module as such

The module links in the menu area will jump between areas/rows on the one page

This is the one page menu section in the template settings found under menus > one page

As you publish a module it triggers the menu link set for the row that module is on

so for example

"Grid block 3 - (grid9 to grid12) row link text"

This means any module published on this row (which means positions grid9 to grid12) will display the link Grid3

Yes! Finally I figured it out. Thanks so much for your help. a few follow up questions if you don't mind :-):

1.The anchors seem to drop a little higher, requiring scrolling down to see the rest of the article. is it possible to control that?

2. It appears that there are only 6 slots for the articles, is that correct?

3. If I display homepage content, it falls below some of the modules. Any way to have it at the top? I solved this by publishing a Home module to the Grid1. That wasted a module however :-)

Thank you! Really great service you have here.

Hi Tim,

1. It's tricky to suggest the css so it may be incremental suggestions

If you add this to the custom.css file and alter the 40px to a smaller value -

.zen-spotlight {
padding: 40px 0;
}

you could also try zeroing the bottom padding by having (you would still want to change the 40px value as that's the top padding

.zen-spotlight {
padding: 40px 0 0;
}

2. Not entirely sure what you mean with "6 slots for the articles" - there is the main content position but that is the only content area in the template

There are 10 rows of positions available

3. Regarding moving the row - that isn't possible via the template settings you would need to manually alter the code blocks

I'd need to check on that one if you wanted advice on that

for 3.

I should mention we are looking at adding flexibility in this regard for the next framework version - which will be released quite soon.
