Using Virtuemart with Responsive Template

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I am struggling to get Virtuemart working nicely with the Responsive2 template. I realise this may be a topic outside of Bamboo templates but thought I would ask incase I am missing something obvious.

I can't get the VM homepage to display on the Responsive template homepage but I can get it on an alternate menu item.

www.amie.nz/ vs www.amie.nz/online-store

Any tips?

Alternatively, is there a way to use the blankoshop virtuemart main content styles only within the Responsive2 overall template style?

Thanks in advance, Amie

Hi Amie,

In the template settings do you have the frontpage content set to hide?

I already have that setting turned off. I can get featured content to show with it off but not virtuemart store. Another odd thing is that the social links on top right don't update for the virtuemart store homepage. The template 4 show not the custom 2 I updated for the other pages.

Update: We have decided to use Blankoshop instead. It's not as pretty but the virtuemart layout works is much nicer and easier for us to use.

Would be interesting to know why it doesn't work on responsive but not a necessity now :-) Thanks for your prompt responses!

Hi

Did you get a chance to look at this?

I have started a clean install of Responsive2 which I would like to use with virtuemart3 (too many conflicts using blankoshop with latest v3 so figured responsive being a more recent template might be better).

bluebubble.nz

As you can see v3 doesnt show on homepage and I definitely have the setting correct for content showing on homepage. You will also notice that the social media buttons stay default on both homepage and the menu link associated with v3 "Online Store". yet I have only 2 set up as you can see on a article type page e.g. "Shipping".

If this is unable to be resolved at this time, do you have a suggestion for another shop product that will fit in seamlessly into this template. Responsive2 was my first choice for look and feel.

Also try adding

.category.floatleft.width25.vertical-separator {margin: 0 0 30px 0;}

the template float css is conflicting with the width25 values

Thanks. The other issue I keep having with this particular template is when saving things (e.g. I changed something in the font section) the compiling message never goes away until I hit Cancel.

Hi Amie

Do you have admin tools or any security extensions installed?

Also what error do you see in the browser console window when trying to save?

I haven't installed any security admin tools, just the template, com_tcpdf_1.0.0, JB_pkg_jblibrary_J2.5_J3.0_2.1.6, Virtuemart and a virtuemart template (but problems happening before the V3 template).

Is there a particular reason you have installed JB Libary? - it isn't a required download for the template

Just habit from a number of years back :-) Have disabled and uninstalled.

Still experiencing issues. Doesn't seem to ever stop compiling when saving template.

Tried to save menu assignment and this is the result. More jquery issues and the changes never save. Have to cancel as saving hangs and no changes saved on reopening.

Hi,

If you look in the overview tab for the theme it will have a list of inputs that are empty.
Try checking through those to see if there is anything that should be filled in.

If not, please open a ticket so we can look into it for you.

Regards,

Rob

Thanks, have opened a ticket since I can't save the template after filling in any empty inputs to see if that helps due to compiling issue.
