The text that I typed in the browser filed in the options tab of the Menu item for the page in question keeps appearing at the bottom of my page. I have breadcrumbs not activated.. How can I get the text (More Oasis Web Sites) off of my page? Please see attached image.

That could be in the article, global settings or added by the link itself

Try in two places

System > Global configuration > Menu Manager > Show Page Heading

and set to no

This is a global change - I think there may be in a bug in Joomla with this so set it to yes save and then no and save

Global Change meaning it is site wide so will affect all pages unless they have been overridden in the actual menu link

Second solution

Open up the link in question via its menu and look for the page display tab

in that tab make sure

Show Page Heading is set to no

One of these solutions should remove the text for you
