I'm using the responsive2 template in onepage setting.

Instead of using a menu to scroll to the different modules, I want to have buttons within the modules to move to other modules.

For example: in header I want a button to scroll down to grid1. I figured out that I have to use <a href="#grid1-link"> as the link. But the effect is a sudden jump. I'd rather have it scroll down smoothly, like it does when using the menu to move around the page.

Is this possible?

I use a $5 plugin called smooth scroll anchors for this. You just need to have an anchor tag anywhere on the page and you can hit it from a menu button, or from a button or link embedded in other content.

The behavior is better than the freebies I've tried, because it hashes your anchor to the url, rather than the module the anchor is located in - and there are quite a few controls built into the plugin.
