I`ve using my own photos for the top slideshow. I`ve alos changed the opacity filter so the photos are brighter.

I want to make the logo and menu areas more legible. One idea I have is to set those on top of a rectangular, darker background with some opacity. In other words, you would see a smaller rectangular overlay inside the slideshow, on which the logo and menus would then be more legible.

What is the CSS to adjust in order to accomplish this?

The menu styling has rgba on the a tag so the alpha can be changed (the last value)

I would like the menu items to be under one single black with transparency bg band(rectangle), Rounded corners (radius) might be nice

As a second possibility, this rectangle could be extended and include the logo above the menu as originally mentioned in the post.

Open to other ideas of making this work.

The easiest option would be to change the opacity of the menu links
