Hello, this is the same question as I have. Just installed Ascent2 as the default template in an older Joomla installation we have (ex Portal template of Deliciousitaly.com)

We want to utilize the one page setting for the main menu but the blue banner message reading 'Saving Changes' just appears and sits there. Doesn't get further and nothing is saved. Admintools is uninstalled.

Have you made any changes to the template settings?

Do you see any error in the browser console window?

What php version is on the site?

What joomla version is running?

1. no changes to template settings. Only tried to save 'one page'
2. no errors in browser
3. php 7
4. 3.7.5

NB I've just cleared the cache, hit home in the front end menu and this appeared (see www.deliciousitaly.net). That looks like a one page ascent2 template to me! Screenshot attachment shows the template settings were saved.

There is a warning that 'PHP temporary folder is not writeable'. Not sure if this is a worry. I'll plough on and see what happens.

You have a few jquery issues coming from analytics and a cookie extension

It looks like the jquery being loaded probably by the cookie extension is conflicting

The analytics and cookie extensions are due an update post php7, SSL etc. Glad you reminded me.

I occasionally run into this problem, but not always - ergo, there's likely a conflict. (For example, Regular Labs advanced module manager can cause this issue in the template manager.)

Two things:

1) Use the blue 'save theme' button in the general settings tab, vs the green button on the top. (Belt and suspenders: you can do both, but click the blue save settings button first.)

2) make sure there is no server cache in use. Global configuration is one place to check, but some hosts - such as siteground - automatically turn on *their* server cache when you install a cms. o_0

you can rename the theme settings so you don't overwrite the defaults, in case you want to revert at some point.

Paul, updated Regular Labs (as suggested by Blueshift), as well as the analytics plugin. Did unpublish Cookie Notification for now. The template saved first time. Cleaned cache and things are as expected. Server cache is still activated. tks

I would probably disable the server cache if you can without affecting other sites
