Bullets in Unordered List in Sidebar position

Using Rasa2, I have a very standard bulleted unordered list in a module displaying in the sidebar1 position.

When it appears in this position, I cannot get the list to show bullets as there seems to be some CSS rules that take precedence over the CSS that I write.

If I display the module in another position - abovecontent, for example, everything displays OK.
I therefore assume that there is some CSS within the template that formats lists in the sidebar position: how can I override this, pls?
