How do I change the widths in the Rasa2 template layout?

How do I adjust each bottom 1-3 to all be 4 width?

Also, why does the footer module only spread two thirds of the bottom, when it should be 12?

Hi,

There should be 3 small dots to the right of the module blocks in the layout area that you can drag left and right to change the width of the positions.

In the footer, the copyright position takes up 3 spans so the footer position can be a maximum of 9 spans.

Regards,

Rob

Hi there,

Actually the Rasa v1.1 update allows you to change the width of the footer and copyright.

This video will help explain how to resize modules:

Thanks Anthony

Thank you Rob, this worked fine.

However, there are not small dots that I can see! ;-) Perhaps these should be made more obvious.

Many thanks.

Thanks Anthony,

I'll try updating Rasa.

Should it be updating through Joomla update? It's not...

The templates aren't available via the Joomla core update you will need to download the latest version from the template download page

Just want to check with you how to correctly save the template layout after changing the Zen Grid4 widths? Is it a case of clicking 'all_positions - Save Layout' then 'Save & Close' in 'Templates: Edit Style'. Do I have to also 'Load Saved Settings' before exiting? When is it necessary to click on the 'all_positions - Load Layout'

tks Philip (Ascent2 template)

Hi Philip,

You load the layout that you want just the once and then save using the save button

Sorry Paul, I'm still a little confused (and erring on the side of caution more than anything!).

I accessed the template layout for the first time and saw it was in the 'all_positions' layout. I made one small change to decrease sidebar2 and increase main content. It is here I'm stuck. How do I save this small modification? Which save button? Is it 'Save Layout' beside the layout widths, or just the main green 'Save and Close' button? Or both?

tks
Phil

Hi Phillip,

You can use the save button, save and compile button in blue or save and close

Paul, sorry to get back to you on this. After making the small module width change I hit 'save and close'. The blue message 'Saving your Changes' appears at the top of the browser and just stays there. Things seems to be stuck.

Hold press! Save layout (blue button) then 'Save and Close' worked, but the result is not as expected.

The Maincontent has now extended as desired. But Sidebar2 has simply narrowed and not extended right to fill the white space you can see in the screenshot. Any suggestions? tks Phil

All OK. Just writing to yourself in the forum gets the mental cogs working!! It was a simple case of removing one of the preset widths in 'all_positions'
