Nothing really to do with a Joomlabamboo template but, I'm in trouble and could with anybody pointing me in the right direction. My problem:

I need to put a pdf of a form into a Joomla website and when a vistor clicks on it, it opens where they can "digitally" sign it, date it and then there should be a send button so that it gets sent via email direct to a given address.
I've never come across this but I am told it is quite common especially in the USA.

Any comments would be most welcome.

Hi Michael,

I've not come across that either. Have you checked on extensions.joomla.org to see if there is a solution for something like that?

I can't think of anything that can do that kind of thing.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, it turns out to be Adobe Cloud E-Signature, very expensive!

Hi Michael

You can produce pdf forms from within Adobe Acrobat, that is the full version and not just the free reader. You would then link/upload to your site or could send by email.

Acrobat handles the whole process for you including digital signing which can be anything from text signing to fully secure signing depending on your audience. Further it handles all the replies back by email in several formats held on your local network or in the cloud. Once produced you do need an Adobe account, anyone can handle the form and data return within reader for the most part.

The whole process is sound and well executed. I used it on few projects a few years back in the uk and Europe but at that time non technical users struggled with the concept and it created a lot of support. The process of using a pdf form that was emailed back phased people.

If your user base is familiar with them they are very good, otherwise a well designed web form is more likely to provided a better user experience.

Ian, many thanks for the explanation, that is really helpful in making my mind up. Think I will be better of using a web form as one, I have to have a holiday booking form which accepts at 4 people's details, passports, don etc. That could have a disclaimer on it for having read terms and conditions. Lastly I need a separate "Waiver" form to be signed by each passenger. I am being told from the States that all my forms must be "digitally"!
I'll head off and investigate!
