OK, pretty sure I've covered the bases. I have a menu published to Sidebar2, module class suffix is set to accordion. At different levels within the menu, the font family and font colours change inconsistently.

Is this correct?

Can it be changed?

I've tried disabling my custom.css, no change.

Try adding this

.nav-header.open.icon-chevron-up, .nav-header.closed.icon-chevron-down {font-family: GillSans, Calibri, Trebuchet, 'arial sans-serif';}
.nav-header.open.icon-chevron-up:before, .nav-header.closed.icon-chevron-down:before {font-family: fontawesome;}

I should explain a little

Its a bug - its a conflict between the fontawesome font family which is the icon and the template css text
