I have an issue that I cannot figure out. It seems that I get a 404 error when I click on a gallery if my Gallery page is not the default page for the site. In other words, it does work when the user lands on the standard Joomla template version and navigates to my gallery template version. It works fine when the gallery is the default page. Is this a bug or by design?

sorry for the delay in replying - can I just check is the gallery page a standard Joomla page?

Do you have the sef option with htaccess enabled? and its set up correctly?

The gallery is a gallery page and not a standard page. I get the 404 when it is not the default page, all works fine when it is the default page.

My SEF settings are in the screenshot. I have not seen any documentation on htaccess requirements for the template so I don't know what they should be. This is on a local MAMP server and I have never altered them and never had a problem.

Kunena blocked the file. I am uploading it again with an allowed extension.

It's very difficult to say what the issue is without being able to see the site.

Can you plovide some steps for us to replicate the issue or some sample urls?

Are you able to put the site up temporarily for us to take a look?

Can you try enabling url rewriting in global configuration and renaming your htaccess.txt file : docs.joomla.org/Enabling_Search_Engine_Friendly_%28SEF%29_URLs_on_Apache
